An Amazon keyword is a search term that potential customers type into the Amazon search engine. Keywords are inserted into the product listing to improve your ability to rank on Amazon's search engine for those phrases.
Keyword relevancy is important because it will allow you to increase visibility to customers who are likely to buy your product. If one of your keywords is "soccer balls" in your product listing for soccer ball soap, chances are the user isn't interested because they're simply looking for soccer balls, not soap. Intent is extremely important. You can find out search intent by entering a keyword into Amazon's search engine and checking whether the products ranking for it are similar to your products. If they're not similar, it's probably not a good keyword for that product listing.
Amazon limits backend/hidden keywords to 250 bytes, which is roughly equivalent to 40 backend keywords. Letters and numbers count as one byte, spaces do not. Typically, 250 bytes equals 250 characters, except for accented letters or foreign language characters.

Your target audience is the people you primarily want as a customer, whether for demographic or psychographic reasons. Audience keywords are simply keywords that your audience is actively looking for on Amazon.
Style keywords appear in the left navigation bar to allow potential customers to sort search results by "style". To add them to your backend, log into your central Amazon seller account and click "Manage Inventory". From there you can find your listing, select the 'Edit' button, the 'Keywords' tab and you are ready to enter style keywords into the search terms field.

How to Find Keywords on Amazon
There are many aspects of the Amazon journey that are crucial to a product's success. However, it's keyword research that I always point to as the most important piece of the puzzle. We are using Helium 10 tools to analyze various competitors and find the top keywords for a niche as a whole. Once you have your main keywords, you are ready to start building your new Amazon product listing.
First, we want to find a benchmark product that exists in your product niche and isn't selling well. Using Xray, part of the Helium 10 Chrome Extension, search Amazon search results for your main keyword and find a competing product with relatively low sales numbers. After selecting a low-performing reference product, you want to select a few more products. However, this time, look for products with similarities to your own product. Focus on form and function. We're looking for products that are similar in size, with similar use cases, and at similar prices. We want relevance. Find at least 5-10 of them and check their boxes on Xray. Now Cerebro will automatically run a search and return the top keywords associated with the products you selected! Our goal? Find the top 10-15 keywords that drive sales for competing products that you found with Xray.
We are looking for sales-oriented phrases associated with our niche as a whole, not just our main individual competitor. Don't assume you can get all the valuable data from the biggest fish in your pond. As marketers in a living, breathing (and changing) ecosystem, we need to be able to see what kind of "fuel" our entire niche is using!
So how do we find these top 10-15 keywords? Let's use the following filters to start refining our results: Competitor Rank, Competitor Rank, and Ranked Competitor ASINS Number for the given phrase. After clicking "Apply Filters", you will be relieved to see that thousands and thousands of keywords have been narrowed down to a list of a few dozen.
How can we narrow things down further to find the best of the best keywords? Two words: search volume. We'll go back to our brain filters and enter a minimum of 500 monthly searches in the "Search Volume" field. These keywords are: be searched for at least 500 times a month; have at least 4 of our selected 7 products currently rank for them (are relevant to the niche!); all are currently ranked, on average, between positions 1 and 30.
